So far away, so long ago
On a hill they called the skull he loved me so
Love so flowed down, like a crimson tide
The Lamb of God upon the tree, suffered bled and died
To take the sins of this man away
He paid a price upon that tree I could never pay
His blood flowed down and it covered me,
He broke the chains that bound my heart, he set me free
Free from it all, free from it all
Free from the chains that bound my life and made me fall
Freedom to live the way I ought
Paid by the blood that flowed from him my life he bought
Freed by his blood that flowed for me
Free by his blood that flowed for me on Calvary
It was my sins, that nailed him there
To the cross on Calvary’s hill, how much he cared
He loved me so, Oh the ground was red
Soaked by the blood of my loving Lord, I thought he was dead
But, the grave could not hold, my Savior down
The rock rounded away from the grave,
Did you hear the trumpet sound
My Savior lives-- for you and for me
He broke the chains of hell and set me free
Free from it all, free from it all
Free from the chains that bound my life and made me fall
Freedom to live the way I ought
